BLACKWOOD CASTLE
In 1978, the ladies of the Sorosis Club came up with a fundraising idea that has grown into our Annual Haunted House. It was an instant hit with the residents of our community. They eagerly return year after year, and it’s heartwarming to see many who once visited as children now sharing the experience with their grandchildren. Blackwood Castle will open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from October 17th through Oct 26th.
We invite you to venture into the chilling embrace of Blackwood Castle. This is no ordinary haunt-it’s a chilling journey into a time best forgotten. The echoes of history and horror converge, enveloping you in an unforgettable nightmarish realm inspired by the grim days of the Black Plague of 1348. Fear shall be your guide. Your screams will echo through the dim corridors as you navigate the shadows of Blackwood Castle. Brace yourself for the spine-tingling terror that awaits you!
Your screams will echo with purpose! The funds we raise benefit area children and causes in our community. The Sorosis Club is renowned for its haunted house and other annual events—Lunch with the Easter Bunny, the Summer Splash Bash, Lunch with Santa, and Operation Santa. You’ll find us at the Manatee Festival, the Orange City 4th of July Celebration, and other local gatherings. Our community’s support fuels our gratitude, and this October, we invite you to join us. Enter if you dare, but heed the warning: Our haunted house is not for the faint of heart. History’s ghosts never truly rest…

This haunt was friggin great....
This is what every local haunt ( and some professional ..cough cough Dungeons presents the Hoard ) should strive to be more like. Very detailed.......long walk thru....tons of scares.....great attention to theme all surfaces of the environment....loaded with enthusiastic actors....this haunt has it all! We sure are glad we went. Will be back next year for sure. For $7 this was the best we have been thru this year. Don't waste your time or money in Clay County or Clermont.
